In his past couple of games, Andrew Heaney has put up decent numbers. Although he has struggled to keep his earned runs down, as he has a 6.91 season ERA, Heaney has still been a good strikeout pitcher. Through the seven games in which he has pitched this season, he sat down 22 batters. In his last game against the Yankees on Friday, he struck out nine batters and held off the Yankees’ high-powered offense with only one earned run off him. Williams has been an efficient pitcher this season for the Squirrels this year. In the 16 innings he has pitched, he has tallied 15 strikeouts. His best game this year came against Hartford. In the five innings he pitched, he sat down six batters. The Flying Squirrels’ next game is against the Altoona Curve on Monday at home.

This season, the Modesto Nuts’ Donnie Walton has been a solid player so far. Hitting right around the .300 mark, Walton has two home runs and six RBIs on the year. His best game of the season came against the Inland Empire 66ers. He hit .297, had a home run and batted in two runners. The Nuts’ next series begins Monday against Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on the road.
