Juventus vs Tottenham
Juventus jumped to a 4-3 aggregate lead against Tottenham on Wednesday at Wembley Stadium. Tottenham came into the second half of the game with a 3-2 aggregate lead against Juventus that would have propelled it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time since 2011. It took Juventus thre minutes to pry that off the Spurs. The Argentinian duo of Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala led Juventus, the Italian side, to score two seamless back-to-back goals in the 64th and 67th minutes. Juventus will set its sights on the quarterfinals, where it will look to recite its Champions League magic from last season and reach the finals once again. The Spurs will look to the English Premier League to defend its top-four position in the table. A top-four finish will surely guarantee the Spurs a spot in next year’s Champions League.
Real Madrid vs PSG
This game went to show even if a team has great players, that doesn’t mean it’s a great team. Real Madrid got the 2-1 victory to complete a 5-2 aggregate thrashing against PSG last Tuesday in Paris. Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro scored goals that propelled Los Blancos to yet another quarterfinals appearance. Tensions continue to arise on the French side, PSG. After spending millions of dollars on a bevy of world-class talent, PSG not only sees itself out of the Champions League but also might lose key players, too. It is rumored that Neymar, PSG’s star Brazilian forward, will leave the team this summer after just one full season with PSG.
