Thunder unable to stop Rockets’ hot streak

The Houston Rockets extended their win streak to 16 Tuesday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. This victory ties the Rockets with the Boston Celtics for the longest win streak in the NBA this season. James Harden and Chris Paul took advantage of weak OKC defense and combined for 48 points.

Anthony breaks into top-20 all-time scoring list

After resting in the Thunder’s previous game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Carmelo Anthony returned with a 23-point performance against the Rockets. Anthony’s 3-point shot midway through the first quarter moved him ahead of Jerry West into the 20th spot on the all-time scoring list.

Eyes on Western Conference

Despite the loss, Oklahoma City remains in seventh place in a log-jammed Western Conference. With eight teams within four games of each other vying for a spot in the playoffs, every game will be crucial in the next month. The Thunder will play the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night at home.
