Thunder’s scoring prowess can’t top Trail Blazers
In a crucial game for playoff seeds, the Portland Trail Blazers came out on top Saturday night at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The Thunder had five players in double digits, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the third-seeded Trail Blazers.
Russell Westbrook led both teams in scoring with 30 points and was only four assists shy of another triple double this season. Paul George added 21 points. Steven Adams and Patrick Patterson each had 12. Carmelo Anthony took the game off for the Thunder after facing the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
Lillard, McCollum pave way to victory
The backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum led the Trail Blazers. The two combined for 48 of the team’s 108 points on the night.
The Blazers had four players in double figures for the night. Evan Turner contributed 17 points, and Zach Collins added 12.
Action continues for Thunder, Trail Blazers
The Thunder will return to action Tuesday to take on the league’s best Houston Rockets. Former teammates Russell Westbrook and James Harden will meet again. The last time the two met, Westbrook got the upper hand, but Harden is looking to continue his team’s 15-game win streak.
The Trail Blazers will head to Los Angeles Monday to take on Lonzo Ball and the Lakers. The young Lakers team is on a five-game win streak and picked up a big victory in San Antonio on Friday.
