Oklahoma vs Baylor
Young drops 44
Trae Young dropped 40 points for the fourth time this season when Oklahoma edged past Baylor 98-96 on Tuesday night in Norman.
He shot incredibly well, as he went 11-of-20 from the field. Although Young had only 13 points in the first half, he had a great second half with 31 points.
Baylor can’t hold on
During the second half, Baylor and OU each struggled to hold the lead. Baylor eventually began to go on a small run in an attempt to gain the lead. The Bears hit a clutch 3 to go up 96-93. They couldn’t hang in the end, though, as Baylor’s King McClure missed a shot at the buzzer that would have helped the Bears take a commanding lead.
Bears miss crucial opportunity
Baylor has had a rough experience in the Big 12 this season. A road victory against the Sooners would have helped to provide more energy to a team that’s delivered lackluster performances recently. Baylor looked like it had potential throughout the game but just couldn’t contain Young in the second half. Only time will tell if the Bears can find their groove this season.
