No. 3 Oklahoma vs No. 11 TCU
With a loss, Oklahoma would be eliminated from College Football Playoff contention. With a win, the Sooners would punch their ticket to the playoff, notching their record 11th Big 12 title in the process.
Oklahoma chose the latter, defeating No. 11 TCU 41-17 on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Oklahoma (12-1) jumped out early, taking a 17-0 lead before the first quarter ended.
TCU (10-3) pulled within three at 17-14 on a 12-yard touchdown pass from Kenny Hill to John Diarse in the second quarter. From that point on, Oklahoma never looked back.
Baker Mayfield, the Heisman front-runner, continued his season of excellence, finishing 15-of-23 for 243 yards and four touchdowns.
The Sooners dominated TCU on the ground, outgaining the Horned Frogs 218-83. Rodney Anderson led Oklahoma in rushing, finishing with 93 yards on 24 carries.
It will be the second time in the past three years the Sooners will be in the College Football Playoff. They will figure out who they play Sunday when the College Football Playoff releases its final rankings.
