Portland Big 3 dominates

Portland’s “Big 3” let their presence be known against Oklahoma City. Damian Lillard led all scorers, finishing with 36 points and 13 assists on 10-of-18 shooting. C.J. McCollum was hot from deep, finishing with 22 points on 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. Manning the middle for Portland was Jusuf Nurkic, who finished with 25 points and eight rebounds on 11-of-15 shooting

Free throw woes

Oklahoma City struggled to get to the free throw line against Portland. Along with that, it struggled the few times it did get to the line, shooting 8-of-15 for a measly 53.3 percent. At the forefront of these free throw issues is Russell Westbrook, who is shooting 63 percent from the charity stripe on the season.

Flagrant foul

Carmelo Anthony was ejected in the third quarter for quite possibly the worst flagrant foul call I’ve ever seen. Anthony shot faked, drove past his defender and went hard to the rim for a layup. As he went up for the layup, his elbow got a piece of Jusuf Nurkic’s head. The refs reviewed the play and Anthony was ejected for a flagrant two foul. Nothing about the play was malicious. Fans pay lots of money to watch these superstars play, so let them play.
