Each week of the NFL season, you can find a list of sleepers here at the O’Zone. The fantasy point projections come from ESPN’s non-PPR weekly projections, the scoring format used is ESPN’s standard fantasy football format
Quarterback: Brett Hundley, Green Bay Packers
Projected points: 14.6
The injury to Aaron Rodgers in Week 6 sent most fantasy owners of his into a frenzy looking for options to replace the superstar. In Week 7, his backup Brett Hundley will take over the offense in an away matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are currently 21st against opposing quarterbacks, giving up an average of 17 points. Pair this rookie quarterback with one of the league’s best receiving corps and he should be more than enough to fill the void Rodgers left.
Running Back: Chris Ivory, Jacksonville Jaguars
Projected points: 8.7
In Week 6, Ivory recieved a season-high 11 touches, and following Leonard Fournette’s minor injury, Ivory should see a slight increase on that number. In Week 7, the Jaguars go up against one of the NFL’s worst run defenses in the Indianapolis Colts. They gave up 40.2 points to the backfield duo of Derrick Henry and Demarco Murray in Week 6. An increased role plus a favorable matchup makes Ivory a great play in a week with four good running backs on bye.
Wide Receiver: Taylor Gabriel, Atlanta Falcons
Projected points : 6
In Week 7, Taylor Gabriel will be going up against one of the worst pass defense in the NFL in the New England Patriots. The Patriots are known for taking away team’s best weapon, and in this matchup, that is Julio Jones. This attention should lead to more opportunities for Gabriel in a game that the Falcons will need to score to keep up.
Tight End: Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers
Projected points: 6.8
When someone sees the matchup that Hunter Henry has against the Denver Broncos, he or she might feel the need to shy away from the tight end. The weakness most people don’t know about the Broncos is their inability to defend opposing tight ends. In three of the Broncos five games, they have given up 20 or more points to the opposing team’s main tight end. Henry should be able to succeed while the Broncos focus on shutting down wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back Melvin Gordon.
Defense/ Special Teams: Miami Dolphins
Projected points: 8.7
In Week 7, the Dolphins face the New York Jets, an offense that has allowed double-digit points to its opponent in three of its six games. The Dolphins are owned in only 9 percent of leagues, so they are the perfect candidate for a streaming defense in Week 7.
Kicker: Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers
Projected points: 8.5
Robbie Gould is the third-best kicker in fantasy through the first six weeks, but is owned in only 35.4 percent of leagues. Gould is averaging 10.3 points per week, so if you have Matt Prater on bye or are looking to switch kickers, Gould should be your first choice.
