Each week of the NFL season, you can find a list of sleepers here at the O’Zone. The fantasy point projections come from ESPN’s non-PPR weekly projections, the scoring format used is ESPN’s standard fantasy football format

Quarterback: Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs

Projected Points: 14.6

Through two weeks, Alex Smith is the No.1 quarterback in fantasy but is still being undervalued among fantasy owners. Smith is going up against the Charger, a bottom-five defense when it comes to points allowed to quarterbacks Week 3. Smith is owned in only 42.2 percent of ESPN leagues, so if you are in need of a quarterback for Week 3, Smith is your guy.

Running Back: Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks

Projected Points: 10

In Week 2, Chris Carson finally got his chance at being the lead back in Seattle. He took charge and finished with a strong performance of 20 rushes for 93 yards and one reception for 7 yards. Carson will have a chance to take full advantage of his new role against the Tennessee Titans, who allowed 23.2 points to the opposing running back last week.

Wide Receiver: Jermaine Kearse, New York Jets

Projected Points: 7.5

Coming into the season, the general consensus was that the only viable fantasy option for the Jets was Bilal Powell, but following his trade to New York, Jermaine Kearse has established himself as quarterback Josh Mccown’s No.1 target in the passing game. In Week 3, the Jets play the Miami Dolphins, who have struggled to defend the pass so far this season, and with a defense as suspect as New York’s, there will be many opportunities for Kearse to get into the end zone.

Tight End: Evan Engram, New York Giants

Projected Points: 5.0

The sole bright spot this season for the Giants has been tight end Evan Engram, who is leading the team in points through two weeks. Engram looks to continue his success against the Philadelphia Eagles, who are seventh in points allowed to tight ends.

Defense/Special Teams: Miami Dolphins

Projected Points: 9.5

The Dolphins will play arguably the worst offense in football in the New York Jets, who through two weeks have allowed 10 fantasy points to both of the defenses it has faced. The Dolphins are owned in only 11.8 percent of ESPN leagues, which makes them a prime streaming option in Week 3.

Kicker: Nick Folk

Projected Points: 7

Nick Folk is coming off of a strong week, finishing 3-for-3 on field goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra points to score 14 fantasy points. In Week 3, Folk will face the Minnesota Vikings, who have allowed the highest average for opposing kickers with 15 per game.
