Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow homered for the second time in three games for the New York Met’s Class-A affiliate Columbia Fireflies on Sunday. He is one homer short of tying Michael Jordan’s three-homer total from Jordan’s stint with Double-A Birmingham in 1994.
Former Braves outfielder Nixon found safe
Otis Nixon, who played for the Braves in the early 1990s, was found safe Monday after he went missing around 10 a.m. Saturday. Nixon was reported missing by his girlfriend after Nixon left their home in Woodstock, Georgia, on his way to his tee time he never arrived for. Authorities still don’t know what led to Nixon’s two-day absence.
Bradley sufferes injury
Red Sox centerfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was sent home from Boston’s road trip Sunday with a sprained ligament in his right knee. Bradley injured his knee after slipping while rounding first base in the top of the ninth of the Red Sox 4-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.
Cardinals’ Rosenthal set to return
St Louis Cardinals reliever Trevor Rosenthal was activated from the 10-day disabled list Monday. Rosenthal was dealing with a strained right lat muscle that he sustained during Spring Training.
