Marcus Smart had a great week, as the Celtics grabbed the No. 1 seed in the East after a Cleveland loss. Smart had a stellar week passing the ball, as he averaged 7.5 assists in two games, including a key assist to Isaiah Thomas that gave the Celtics momentum late in the fourth quarter against the Heat on Sunday night. Smart eventually knocked down two daggering free throws to give the Celtics the victory. Smart finished the week averaging eight points per game.
Tony Allen, guard, Memphis Grizzlies (9.2 ppg, 5.5 reb, 1.7 stl)
The Grizzlies’ defensive prowess is not enough, as they are on a four-game losing streak. Allen played with a sore left knee in a seven-point loss against the Spurs on Thursday night, recording eight points and four rebounds. Allen had a great game against the Warriors, recording eight points, six rebounds and five assists, despite losing 106-94. The Grizzlies lost a nail-biter to the Kings, 91-90. Allen tallied six points and seven rebounds in the loss. Allen finished the week averaging 7.6 points and five rebounds.
