NHL Slap Shots: Lundqvist records 400th career win

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, recorded 32 saves against the Colorado Avalanche to secure his 400th career victory. Lundqvist is only the 12th goalie in NHL history to amass 400 wins and the first European-born goalie to reach the mark.


Bruins 3-0 under interim coach

The Bruins are 3-0 under interim coach Bruce Cassidy since firing long-time coach Claude Julien. The Bruins have been playing some of their best hockey with goalie Tukka Rask recording his first ever regular season home victory against the Montreal Canadiens and his sixth shutout of the season.


Red Wings’ Ericsson out for remainder of season

As if the situation couldn’t get worse in Detroit, the Red Wings will lose defenseman Jonathan Ericsson for the rest of the season because of a fractured wrist. Ericsson sustained the injury in Thursday’s 6-3 loss to the Capitals after he was slammed into the boards by the Capitals’ Nicklas Backstrom.


Capitals’ Burakovsky out at least a month

Washington Capitals forward Andre Burakovsky will miss at least a month of action because of a right hand injury. Burakovsky suffered the injury during Thursday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings. The good news is that it’s unlikely he will need surgery on his right hand.
