Kansas vs Kansas State
No. 3 Kansas escaped Manhattan with a close 74-71 win against Kansas State. KU forward Josh Jackson played with blurry vision after being poked in the eye earlier in the day. Frank Mason III led the Jayhawks with 21 points and Jackson was just behind with 18.
The Wildcats tied the game at 63 but couldn’t manage to stop the Jayhawks from going on a run. K-State had four players to score double digits despite shooting 38 percent from the field.
Texas Tech vs TCU
After a controversial foul at the end of the game, Alex Robinson shot a game-winning free throw to give TCU the 62-61 victory. The Horned Frogs shot 47 percent from the field despite turning the ball over 21 times. Jaylen Fisher led TCU with 17 points.
Keenan Evans led the Red Raiders with 20 points but missed a go-ahead free throw after tying the game at 61. Zach Smith recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Tech struggled from the field, shooting 40 percent.
Iowa State vs Texas
Texas forward Jarrett Allen made a pair of game-winning free throws to give the Longhorns a 67-65 victory against Iowa State. The Longhorns came out hot with a 22-5 run but ran out of steam going into halftime up six. Allen led Texas with 17 points and nine rebounds.
The Cyclones never had the lead despite outscoring Texas by four in the second half. ISU struggled from the field, shooting 41 percent. Matt Thomas led the Cyclones with 17 points and Deonte Burton trailed with 13 points and eight rebounds.
West Virginia vs Oklahoma
The Mountaineers came out of Norman with a 61-50 win, as both teams struggled from the field. James Bolden came off the bench and led West Virginia with 17 points. WVU shot 37 percent from the field.
Oklahoma made only 16 field goals Wednesday night, as it shot 33 percent from the field. The Sooners turned the ball over 23 times, giving WVU easy fast-break points. Kameron McGusty and Jordan Shepherd led the Sooners with 11 points apiece.
Kansas State vs West Virginia
The game got away from Kansas State, as West Virginia cruised to an 85-66 win. Losing to the Wildcats earlier in the season motivated Jevon Carter as he led the mountaineers with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Kansas State struggled from the field, shooting 34 percent. Although K-State shot 40 free throws, it struggled in other phases of the game. The Wildcats were outrebounded by 21. Wesley Iwundu led the Wildcats with 14 points and eight rebounds and Kamau Stokes added 12 points.
Kansas vs Texas Tech
No.3 Kansas survived in Lubbock, winning 80-79. Josh Jackson shot the game-winning free throw and led his team with 31 points and 11 rebounds. The Jayhawks have a tough week ahead, as they play ranked West Virginia and Baylor squads.
Texas Tech struggled as team. Keenan Evans, Niem Stevenson and Zach Smith carried the team, combining for 68 of the team’s total points. The Red Raiders outscored the Jayhawks in the second half, but Evans missed the game-winning 3-pointer at the end. Tech has lost back-to-back games determined by one point.
TCU vs Baylor
Baylor never trailed in the game, handling TCU 70-52. Jonathan Motley had a great night, shooting 12-of-15 and scoring 25 points. The Bears shot 53 percent from the field.
The Horned Frogs were outscored 32-17 in the first half and struggled to stay in the game. Jaylen Fisher led TCU with 18 points and Kenrich Williams trailed with 10.
Oklahoma vs Iowa State
Iowa State walked away with a win as it cruised past Oklahoma, 80-64. The Cyclones turned the ball over only four times and forced OU to 14 turnovers. The Cyclones shot 46 percent behind the arc. Nazareth Mitrou-Long led ISU with 23 points.
OU had problems scoring, shooting 39 percent. Kameron McGusty led the Sooners with 13 points. OU has lost seven straight games and is the lone Big 12 team without 10 wins.
