Russell Westbrook dominated yet another game, posting his 26th triple-double of the season with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Westbrook dished out assists early and closed the game strong with his shot.
Adams, Oladipo play well
Victor Oladipo had 23 points and seven rebounds while Steven Adams tallied 20 points and 13 rebounds. The duo helped Westbrook get open looks down the stretch and proved to be too much for the defending champion Cavaliers. Oladipo started strong and scored seven of Oklahoma City’s first 11 points. Adams helped Tristan Thompson to five rebounds.
One down, one to go
OKC defeated the defending champs, but Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors are up next for the Thunder on Saturday. Durant has scored 39 and 40 points in his first two meetings against his former team, respectively. The Warriors will be on the second night of back-to-back games after playing in Memphis on Friday. It will also be Durant’s first game in OKC as a visitor and the fans are preparing to welcome him back, but not with cheers. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC.
