Marcus Smart, guard, Boston Celtics
Marcus Smart found himself back in the starting five because a sore right Achilles delayed Avery Bradley’s return. Smart struggled from the perimeter, shooting 7-for-26 the past three games. However, he continues to impress with his stellar defense, averaging two steals and one block per game. Smart is expected to start the next four games while Bradley recovers from his injury.
Tony Allen, guard, Memphis Grizzlies
Tony Allen recorded his fourth double-double of the season Friday, contributing 13 points from 6-for-11 shooting and 10 rebounds during a 107-91 win against the Kings. Allen, a 12-year veteran, is posting a solid season thus far, averaging 9.6 points per game; his best since the 2006-07 season.
