Here’s how the sleepers for last week scored. Scoring is based off ESPN Fantasy standard scoring

Andy Dalton: 24 points

Jay Ajayi: 28 points

Kenny Britt: 4 points

Vernon Davis: 8 points

Matt Bryant: 12 points

Los Angeles Rams: 5 points

Week 8 picks

Quarterback: Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs

Last week’s points: 21, This week’s projected: 19

Smith played well against a New Orleans offense allowing the most passing yards per game of any team in the league. Sunday, he faces a Colts defense that blitzes on 32.3 percent of defensive snaps. Last week, Smith was 7-for-8 for 120 yards and two touchdowns against the blitz. Smith should continue his strong play Sunday.

Running Back: Jeremy Hill, Cincinnati Bengals

Last week’s points: 24, This week’s projected: 10

Hill is averaging 5.2 yards per carry, eighth-best in the league. Last week, Hill rushed for the third-most yards on ten or fewer carries in NFL history. The Redskins’ defense allows 5.05 rushing yards per attempt to running backs, so Hill should continue his stellar play Sunday.

Wide Receiver: Tyler Lockett, Seattle Seahawks

Last week’s points: 3, This week’s projected: 11

Lockett has not produced a big-number game receiving yet this season, but Sunday he faces a Saints’ secondary that ranks last in the league defending the pass. With the Saints’ defense focusing on tight end Jimmy Graham and receiver Doug Baldwin, Lockett’s targets and receptions will go up and result in a big game for him Sunday.

Tight End: Gary Barnidge, Cleveland Browns

Last week’s points: 7, This week’s projected: 12

Barnidge ranks 12th among tight ends for total fantasy points so far this year. It’s been quarterback by committee in Cleveland this season, and each one has thrown it Barnidge’s way. Barnidge is on pace for a 1,000-yard season. The Jets’ defense is allowing the ninth-most yards to opposing tight ends, so Barnidge is a good tight end to start Sunday.

Kicker: Steven Hauschka, Seattle Seahawks

Last week’s points: 6, This week’s projected: 10

Hauschka missed a game-winning field goal attempt in overtime against Arizona last Sunday night, which resulted in a 6-6 tie. Hauschka also made a 40-yard attempt earlier in the game, even after he mishit the ball and took a chunk of turf out of the ground. Seattle faces a poor Saints’ defense, so look for Hauschka to get plenty of PAT and field goal attempts Sunday.

Defense: Kansas City Chiefs

Last week’s points: 6, This week’s projected: 8

The Chiefs’ defense need to revive what has been a lackluster pass rush to this point in the season. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been pressured on 34 percent of his pass attempts this season, so look for Kansas City to get to the quarterback and make it a long day for Luck and Co. on Sunday.
