After a promising Week 1 of action, an anticipated Week 2 was upon us with seven division rivalry matchups. From the Steelers facing off against the Bengals, to Jimmy Garappolo’s Patriots, yes, Garappolo’s, squaring up against Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins. There were also a handful of former Oklahoma State Cowboys that shined on the big stage.
Dez Bryant, wide receiver, Dallas Cowboys
With a poor performance in Week 1, Dez Bryant looked to redeem himself against division rival, Washington Redskins, who acquired All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman in the offseason. Bryant had a better showing this week. He was targeted 12 times and had seven receptions for 102 yards. Most of his receptions came when covered by cornerback Bashuad Breeland. Bryant will look to escape his slump and contribute when the Cowboys face off against the Chicago Bears and look for their first home win of the season.
Dan Bailey, kicker, Dallas Cowboys
Arguably one of the best kickers in the NFL today, Bailey had another perfect day. With a close matchup against the Redskins, Bailey was 5-for-5 on field goals and netted in a 31-yarder.
Emmanuel Ogbah, linebacker, Cleveland Browns
After a one-tackle performance in Week 1, Ogbah didn’t deliver much again against Baltimore. Ogbah had two tackles against the Ravens and will play the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Perrish Cox, cornerback, Tennessee Titans
Although Perrish Cox made the headlines for the wrong reasons after getting trucked by Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, he made up for it with a season-high five tackles and an interception that helped seal the Titans’ first win of the season. Cox will go toe-to-toe with Oakland Raider receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree on Sunday.
